Equiori was created in 2012 by 2 Swiss businessmen passionate about Colombia. Fascinated by the diversity of the country, its flourishing agriculture and its hard workers, every Equiori product is a part of the country they love: Colombia. The name Equiori highlights the dual mission of the company: to produce a fair trade chocolate (Equi) from Colombia (Ori).
Colombia is a rich and diverse country. The brand has been doing research across the country to find the most tasty, delicious and quality organic ingredients. All Equiori chocolate production takes place in Colombia (from the farm to the factory), in order to offer constant growth to their raw material suppliers. Equiori products are certified organic (EU & USDA). It is the only organic certified chocolate made in Colombia from native cocoa beans.
A responsible and ethical brand
Equiori is committed to supporting local producers and suppliers through direct and ethical purchasing. The company pays higher prices for cocoa, sugar and fruit and works closely with cocoa farmers. Working with the same producers each year, the brand can make recommendations to producers to improve the quality of their cocoa. The brand guarantees its producers to buy their cocoa at each harvest and above market prices, as long as they meet their quality standards. Equiori is committed to supporting small farmers. The brand believes that these producers, the backbone of Colombian agricultural production, deserve fair treatment and wages for their products.
